07/05/08: CAE becomes Bombardier’s authorized training provider for Learjet 40/40 XR and Learjet 45/45 XR aircraft in Europe

Belfast, Northern Ireland, May 7, 2008 – CAE and Bombardier Aerospace are expanding their 20-year Authorized Training Provider agreement to include Learjet 40/40 XR and Learjet 45/45 XR aircraft for European customers. The original agreement announced in June 2007 named CAE as Bombardier’s Authorized Training Provider to provide pilot and technical training for Global Express, Global 5000, Global Express XRS, and Challenger 300 aircraft. To address growing demand, CAE will build and deploy a new Learjet 40/40 XR and Learjet 45/45 XR aircraft full-flight simulator (FFS) to the CAE Burgess Hill Training Centre in the U.K. and a Challenger 300 aircraft FFS in Europe (exact location to be determined) in the fall of 2009. This marks the first time that training programs for these aircraft types will be available in Europe, and will augment Bombardier’s existing training capability.

06/05/08: Swiss Aviation Training (SAT), Zurich, Switzerland, and Galvin Flying Services of Seattle, WA, USA, receive certification for their New Generation DA42 flight simulators manufactured by Diamond Simulation as FNPT II according to the European JAR-STD 3(A) and as Level 5 FTD according to AC 120-45A of the FAA

Trebur, May 6, 2008 – On April 23, 2008, a new Diamond DA42 simulator was certificated by the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) as FNPT II according to JAR-STD 3(A). The device belongs to SAT, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Swiss International Airlines and Flight Training Organisation, and had been installed shortly before at SAT’s training centre in Zurich. It marks the first step in SAT’s transition to a new generation of training equipment and facilities in order to meet the increase in demand for pilots. Moreover, SAT will put a fleet of DA42 Twin Star aircraft into service from May 2008. On April 14, after only two days following installation of the simulator, Galvin Flying Services in Seattle, WA received Level 5 certification from the FAA for their DA42 FTD also manufactured by Diamond Simulation GmbH & Co. KG (D-SIM). For the time being the simulator is to be used for FAA inspector training.

23/04/08: CAE grows pilot provisioning initiative to address global demand: CAE to train more than 600 candidate pilots for Jazeera Airways, Kingfisher Airlines and Wizz Air

Montreal, April 23, 2008 – (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) – CAE is growing its pilot provisioning initiative to address the global pilot shortage. The company has signed agreements to source, recruit, and train more than 600 candidate pilots for Jazeera Airways, Kingfisher Airlines and Wizz Air over a four year period. 13/03/08: CAE Achieves Level D Certification of 2 Falcon 7X Simulators and receives Level D certification for G450/550 simulator

(Montreal, March 13, 2008) — CAE achieved industry firsts with the receipt of Level D certification, the highest qualification for flight simulators, for two CAE-built Dassault Falcon 7X full-flight simulators (FFSs) located in CAE’s Burgess Hill training centre in the U.K. and CAE’s North East Training Centre (NETC) near Morristown, New Jersey. CAE also announced that a Gulfstream G450/550 full-flight simulator located in the NETC had been certified to Level D.

Under the designation D-SIM-NG, Diamond Simulation has developed the next generation of their flight simulators for Diamond aircraft which is to be brought to market shortly. The new proprietary P2/P3 software replicating aircraft systems, radio communication as well as navigation and flight instruments is even more powerful and complements the original Garmin G1000™ glass cockpit integrated in the simulator. The Tropos™ 1000 visual system developed by CAE (see www.cae.com) meets all Full Flight Simulator requirements valid for airline pilot training. The visual system is supplemented by True Environment™, CAE’s ATC simulation program, by means of which radio communication between air traffic controllers and pilots both on the ground and in flight can be simulated very realistically. 10/03/08: CAE Wins Military Contracts Valued at C$66m: CAE to provide two helicopter simulators to the Republic of Singapore Air Force and to provide on-site maintenance and support services for German Armed Forces flight simulation equipment

(Montreal, March 10, 2008) — CAE has been awarded contracts by Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) and the German procurement office Bundesamt fur Wehrtechnik und Beschaffung (BWB) with a combined contract value of more than C$66 million. “We are pleased that Singapore has once again recognized CAE’s unmatched helicopter simulation experience and leading edge technology by selecting us for the S-70B and AS332 programs,” said Marc Parent, CAE’s Group President, Simulation Products and Military Training & Services. “Our innovative roll-on/roll-off cockpit design gives customers with smaller fleets the ability to leverage the many advantages of a full-mission simulator and do so efficiently and cost-effectively.” CAE has supplied military training systems and services to the defence forces of more than 50 nations. The contract with Singapore’s DSTA is for the design and manufacture of S-70B Seahawk and AS332 Super Puma helicopter simulators for the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF).

25/02/08: L-3 Awarded Contract To Build Bell 412 Simulator Cockpit

ARLINGTON, Tex., Feb. 25, 2008 – L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that it has been awarded a contract to design and build a simulated Bell 412 helicopter cockpit. L-3 will deliver the simulated Bell 412 helicopter cockpit to Aegis Technologies Group Inc. in 2008. “We look forward to delivering a high fidelity simulated cockpit for the Bell 412 training system,” said Greg Campbell, general manager of L-3 Link Simulation and Training division’s AMI Instruments (AMI) organization. “When the cockpit is integrated with motion, visual and operating systems the end product will result in a superior training device that will provide excellent pilot training for this highly capable commercial helicopter.”

07/02/08: CAE signs contracts with the government of India to provide pilot training in two national flight academies

NEW DELHI, India, Feb. 7 /CNW Telbec/ - (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) - CAE has signed a contract to become the managing partner of the Indian government’s flight training academy: Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA). CAE has also formalized and signed a joint venture agreement with the Airport Authority of India (AAI) to develop the Rajiv Gandhi National Flying Training Institute (RGNFTI). Memorandums of understanding for these contracts were announced during the Paris Air Show in June 2007. The signings were attended by Mr. Ashok Chawla, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation; Mr. R. K. Singh, Joint Secretary for the Ministry of Civil Aviation of the Government of India; Dr. K. 06/02/08: OH-58D Operational Flight Trainers delivered by L-3 enter Service on U.S. Army’s Flight School XXI Program

ARLINGTON, Tex., Feb. 5, 2008 – L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that two OH-58D Operational Flight Trainers (OFTs) it delivered to the U.S. Army’s Flight School XXI program have entered service. 22/12/07: Online Fligtsimulation increases real aviation safety: VATSIM and MITRE agree partnership

VATSIM and MITRE’s Center for Advanced Aviation System Development (CAASD) have joined together to conduct aviation systems research using the VATSIM network as a test environment for proof of concept and hypothesis testing of new ATC solutions. Richard Jenkins of VATSIM writes, “This program is the direct result of the exacting standards required to fly and control on VATSIM and is a direct tribute to your tireless efforts to simulate as real as it gets. 19/12/07: CAE wins AUD$180 million (C$160 million) contract to provide MRH90 helicopter training to Australian Defence Forces

13/12/07: Netherlands MoD signs two contracts with CAE valued at C$60 million: CAE will design and deliver C-130H and KDC-10 full-mission simulators - CAE will provide 15 years of maintenance and support services

MONTREAL, Dec. 13 /CNW Telbec/ - (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) - CAE announced today that the Netherlands Ministry of Defence (NL MoD) has signed two contracts with a combined value of C$60 million ((euro)43 million) for CAE to design two full-mission simulators (FMS) for the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) as well as provide comprehensive maintenance and support services. CAE will design and manufacture one C-130H FMS and one KDC-10 FMS for the RNLAF to support flight and mission training. Both simulators will be qualified to Level D standards, the highest qualification for flight simulators, by the Netherlands Militaire Luchtvaart Autoriteit (Military Aviation Authority). The simulators will be delivered and made ready for training in early 2009.

03/12/07: Emirates-CAE Flight Training to provide helicopter training to India’s Global Vectra Helicorp

Dubai, UAE - December 3, 2007 – Emirates-CAE Flight Training (ECFT) has signed a three-year contract to provide helicopter training for Global Vectra Helicorp (GVHL), India’s largest offshore helicopter operator. Global Vectra’s flight crew will undergo training on the Bell Helicopter 412 full-flight simulator at ECFT’s facility in Dubai for both recurrent and initial type training. “I am very pleased to welcome Global Vectra to Emirates-CAE Flight Training,” said Walter Visser, Managing Director, ECFT. “I am confident its flight crew will receive the highest level of training, in pleasant and secure surroundings. ECFT became an authorised Bell Helicopter Training Facility in 2006 for operators of the Bell 412 helicopter across the Middle East and Asia. Since then, we have attracted a significant number of helicopter operators within the region, who appreciate the fact that our location is close enough to their operations to ensure minimal disruption to their schedules.”

26/11/07: CAE achieves industry first with Level D certification of 3.2 MPixel LCoS system

Montreal, November 26, 2007 – (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) – CAE announced today that its CAE Tropos™-6000 visual system and 3.2 megapixel (MPixel) Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCoS) projectors have obtained Level D certification on a CAE-built Airbus A320 full-flight simulator (FFS) for Air France. This Level D certification, the highest available for a FFS, is an industry first for this resolution of high-performance fixed-matrix LCoS projectors. The CAE-built A320 FFS, currently installed and now ready for training at Air France’s training centre in Paris, was certified by the DGAC, France’s civil aviation authority.
