 Thielert Aircraft Engines GmbH     Updated
Thielert Motoren GmbH, founded by Frank Thielert in 1989, was the start of the Thielert Group. It concerned itself with the development of high-performance engines and precision engine components for the construction of prototypes and pilot production as well as motor sport. Thielert quickly developed into an international supplier of racing engines and both mechanical and electronic engine components.

Successful positioning in the market was achieved through the intelligent linkage of advanced technology, qualified employees with high flexibility and comprehensive process security. Our expertise in development and production eventually formed the basis for developing and implementing its innovative project for a jet fuel piston aircraft engine.

In 1999, Thielert Aircraft Engines GmbH (TAE) was founded and integrated into the Thielert Group. TAE succeeded in making the evolutionary leap of transferring diesel technology for automobiles to the design of jet fuel engines for aircraft. With the development and certification of the CENTURION 1.7, a technological leap in aircraft design was finally achieved which makes Thielert AG the clear market and technology leader in this strong growth market.

In view of the enormous success of the CENTURION family of engines, the Thielert Group was subdivided in 2005 into the two business sectors "Aircraft Engines" and "Technology & Prototyping."
