(Apr. 16, 2008) – FlyContract.com, the largest online aviation contractor directory for pilots and flight attendants looking for contract and permanent employment, has added new features and capabilities to its website, including an interactive map, forum section, and training offers. FlyContract.com’s interactive map functionality utilizes Google interactive maps to allow users to better visualize where pilots and flight attendants are located in relation to each other and the user.  After searching for a pilot by aircraft or narrowing a flight attendant search by state or training, users can click a “view map” link to display pinpoints of the contractor locations from the search.  When the user moves the mouse over the pinpoints, a synopsis of each contractor listing is displayed, showing name, photo, location, price, and a link to the full profile and availability.

The new forum section of FlyContract.com allows users and contractors to post thoughts and input on various aviation-related topics.  The main topics that are currently available include FlyContract which is open for general discussion related to the site or pilot/flight attendant employment, CharterMatrix which covers topics related to air charter, FlightOps1 which discusses the site FlightOps1.com and other dispatch-related software, and General Aviation Discussion.  Anyone who is a registered user of FlyContract.com, CharterMatrix.com, or FlightOps1.com can register and use the forum.

Training specials are offered to users of the site through FlyContract’s new training deals tab.  Specials offered on the page include discounts on simulator training, recurrent training, and emergency training.  Since the contractor postings currently display their training levels, this new feature offers another opportunity to maintain up-to-date training levels.  The training specials listed specify who is offering the discount, the type of training, details of the discount, location, and when the offer expires.
