Top-flight bands to headline at “openairport” music fest in Munich Airport Center: Rock and hip-hop set to touch down at Munich Airport

With the inaugural “openairport” on the weekend of July 19 and 20, 2008, the Munich Airport Center Forum will host the first rock and pop festival ever to be staged at a major European airport. For two whole days, music fans and air travellers alike will have free admission to hear bands from all over Germany performing everything from hip-hop and funk to ska and reggae.

The roofed-in, open-air MAC Forum at the heart of Munich Airport is perfect for concerts, whether rain or shine. Slated to play at openairport are the following bands: La Brass Banda (from Chiemgau), Porch (Altmühltal), The Lymbique (Nuremberg/Eichstätt), Toni L & The Safarisounds (Heidelberg), Hesslers (Mannheim), Alin Coen (Berlin), Monopol (Hamburg), Jerobeam (Hamburg) and Santeria & The Porn Horns (Munich). The music kicks off on Saturday at 12 noon and Sunday at 1 p.m., and on both days the show will go on until 9 p.m.
